Introduction
To students and young people:
Welcome to Canada for your studies! We are a group of parents from Hong Kong who have been living in Canada for many years. Amongst us, we have experience in assisting children who have excelled in their studies, are great networkers, and have successful careers. However, others have faced many difficulties in academics, social life, and work due to various reasons and encountered setbacks. Some have overcome obstacles through their efforts and assistance from friends but there are still others who have not been able to extricate themselves from difficulties.
Let's learn, work and live together in Canada. We hope to encourage and support you in every step of your exciting journey!
To the parents of students:
If your child is struggling with mental or physical health issues and receiving treatment, please do not worry. Canada is an inclusive country and every school reserves a certain number of spots for students with special needs. Teachers and counselors who are both caring and qualified are available to assist students in need. In the eyes of Canadians, every teenager, including students, has unique talents and areas where they need help. Every school-aged child in Canada is entitled to equal education opportunities. Fairness, a universal value, is what we need and always insist on. Some issues that may be difficult to discuss in Hong Kong can be raised directly in Canada. Schools are attentive and will listen to your concerns and try to help your child to integrate into their learning and social life.
To adult friends:
Whether you already have Canadian citizenship, are residing and working in Hong Kong, or planning to study, work, or settle in Canada, we wish you all the best. For those leaving, we hope you will have a smooth start to your new chapter in Canada. For those staying in Hong Kong, we wish you a safe and fulfilling life. For those currently in Canada, whether you have just returned, recently arrived, or are studying or working, we also extend our best wishes to you. May students excel in their studies, workers be successful, and entrepreneurs thrive in their business ventures.
We envy and even feel jealous of those friends who have had a smooth sailing life or those who can quickly solve their problems when faced with difficulties. We hope they can join our family and share how to establish and maintain positive energy and coping techniques.
However, life is always full of challenges...
We have heard and met many men, women, couples, and elderly people who have experienced different troubles. We strongly believe that in addition to the support of family and friends, they need professional assistance to get out of their predicaments.
Let's support each other and build a positive community of excellence!
About Us:
We are a group of Hong Kong immigrants who have been naturalized in Canada for many years. We established Canada Hong Kong Alliance Association (also known as Canada Hong Kong, CANHK) on July 21, 2021, according to the Canadian Societies Act (Registration Number S0074089), and we operate as a non-profit organization.
Our Service
We Love and Care belongs to "Canada Hong Kong Alliance". We will work with many professional educators, student and youth counselors, social workers, and psychologists to provide sharing, counseling, and assistance services for our Hong Kong friends in need.
We are preparing to establish an interactive platform in both Hong Kong and Canada. Accredited educators, student and youth counselors, social workers, and psychologists will share how to avoid difficulties in immigration arrangements, studying, working, and living, as well as solutions for those in need.
We will hold various forms of seminars in Hong Kong and Canada, inviting government officials, certified psychologists, youth counselors, social workers, and experienced individuals to attend and directly answer your questions.
In addition, we are planning to establish counseling centers in both Hong Kong and Canada. Accredited psychologists and social workers will directly assist those in need through direct appointments or cooperation.
Due to limited resources, we will prioritize serving Canadian citizens, permanent residents, international students, workers in Canada, prospective immigrants, and friends who have close ties to Canada. We will also provide services and support for friends who are currently facing political, economic, and/or family problems.
